Today’s Front Pages

We were around when Nixon resigned, and we convinced ourselves that was the low-water mark of the American presidency. Now, the tide has receded further. Here’s how some newspapers and news magazines around the world have handled the story of the former president’s conviction.

Top Row: The Daily Telegraph, The New Yorker, Der Speigel. As other journals’ front pages include their titles, I won’t bother listing them. To be fair, the Ottawa Sun’s “Don the Con” headline stands head and shoulders above the rest. The bar has been set, world media.

We are a bit surprised none simply showed the number 45, crossed out, with the number 34 inserted instead. That is his new number, after all.
